ETTA JAMES
Jamesetta Hawkins (Etta James) was born January 25, 1938 in LA. The reason I chose Etta James because even today she is a wonderful artist that still preforms and is still widely heard. It is interesting to know that she was preforming at te age of 5 and she got her start singing in a church choir. The beautiful melody At last can be heard on the Walle movie trailer. and recently Beyonce played her in the 2008 hit “Cadillac Records”

Beyoncé
Beyoncé Giselle Knowles (Beyoncé) September 4, 1981, in Houston. I chose the Beyoncé connection with Etta James because these are two famous confident women that I like to listen to. Beyoncé got her start in Destiny’s Child as a preteen. This group brought her tremendous success. once the “group” fully disbanded in 2001 she launched a solo career and contines to go on.

Kanye West
Kanye Omari West was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on June 8, 1977. I chose Kanye West as my final artist because I diodnt recognize how he was connected to Etta James until years after the song he featured her in came out.
